　The fall of the dollar has made me especially sensitive to prices. Besides, with prices as high as they are, I think more and more people are interested in outlets and local sources, which tend to be out of major cities. Besides, I found Florence so filled with tourists (and it wasn't even "in-season") that I can't imagine anyone thinking this would be fun.

I hope some of my extra side trips have inspired you to reach out past the big cities and to slow down, smell the slow food, arid buy a little olive oil. There are more factory outlets in this edition, and there's also more information about arranging for someone to drive you into the countryside if you do not want to drive yourself.
